Parenting - Deuteronomy 6:1-2

In today’s verses, we see Moses teaching the commands of the covenant that the LORD gave him. The Sabbath Rest was a key component to the covenant, and we see it was to be passed down to the next generation. Even though these commands were specifically given to the nation of Israel, we see the principle of how important it is to pass on God’s instructions to the next generations.

PRAY: God, we praise you for your great wisdom, and we thank you for the principles you’ve revealed to us to guide our lives. We confess Lord that we are sometimes short-sighted or selfish and we neglect to pass on your wisdom to the next generation. Help us Lord to live out your word and to pass it on to those under our care. AMEN
