Who we are

A church for all generations

Welcome

Welcome! We’re glad you’re here and hope to see you at one of our weekend worship services. Our services aren’t just something we attend or do. We aren’t just a building or an event. We are a people, the body of Christ, sinners saved by grace.  We all fall short of God’s glory and need a Savior—Jesus Christ. The Chapel is a church for all generations! We welcome all people to come and experience how Jesus changes everything!

Our 4 Purposes

We are organized around 4 primary purposes: Believe, Grow, Serve, and Change Your World. We hope each person that comes through our doors experience these 4 purposes: that they would come and BELIEVE Jesus is God and follow Him as Lord, GROW in their relationship with Him through studying His Word and Christian community, SERVE the church body, and CHANGE THEIR WORLD by connecting others in the community with Jesus!

BELIEFS

The Eight Essential Beliefs  &  The Seven Distinctive Beliefs

Our Eight Essential Beliefs represent the most simple and foundational beliefs of Christianity. They capture the basic contours of Christian theology. Anyone pursuing membership and baptism at The Chapel must agree with these beliefs.

Our Seven Distinctive Beliefs mark our convictions on areas that are debated even among Bible-believing, gospel-centered churches. Though agreement with these distinctives isn’t necessary for membership, we will teach and counsel on the basis of them.

EIGHT ESSENTIAL BELIEFS
GOD
We believe in one God, creator of all things, perfect in love and holiness who exists as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2).
JESUS
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and entered human form by the miracle of the virgin birth, that He lived a sinless life, and that He died for our sins. We believe that He rose again on the third day and now sits at the right hand of God as our advocate (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1 & 14, 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-7; Hebrews 1:3; 1 John 2:1).
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God. His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. We believe that He brings about the new birth, indwells, baptizes, seals, anoints, and endows all who are regenerated with spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit also leads believers who daily surrender their life to Him by guiding, teaching, sanctifying, and filling them (John 15:26, 16:8, 3:3-6, 14:16-17, 14:26).
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word and is the sole authority for all Christian faith and life. We believe that God has preserved His Word and that by His power it has been kept from being lost, destroyed, or diluted with error (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:89; 1 Peter 1:23, 25).
MAN
We believe that all people are created in the image of God. At the same time, because of Adam’s sin, all people are sinful by nature and choice. Apart from forgiveness in Jesus Christ, all are lost and alienated from God (Genesis 1:27, 3:1-6; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3).
SALVATION
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. His death is the only payment for our sins that God will accept. All who truly believe in Christ are born again and become the children of God (John 1:12; Ephesians 2:8-9).
RESURRECTION
We believe in the resurrection of the body. At death the spirits of the saved go immediately to be with the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven and the unsaved descend immediately into hell until the final day of judgment. At that time, their bodies shall be raised from the grave: the saved will return to be in heaven with Christ, the lost will be judged and returned to hell (Luke 16:19-31, 23:43; Revelation 20:11-15).
THE CHURCH
We believe that the Church consists of all who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior. The local church exists to exalt Christ, encourage believers, and evangelize the world. We believe that every local church is free to govern its own affairs under Christ and should seek to support the unity of all Christ-honoring churches and ministries
(Colossians 1:28; Ephesians 4:3-6).

SEVEN DISTINCTIVE BELIEFS
ETERNAL SECURITY
We believe that all who are genuinely saved will be held secure by the power of God and presented faultless before God on judgment day (John 10:28-29; 1 Peter 1:5).
END TIMES
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will physically return to rescue His Church before the Great Tribulation, after which He will establish His physical reign on the earth for 1,000 years (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:4-7).
PRIESTHOOD OF BELIEVERS
We believe in the priesthood of all believers, and that every born-again person has direct access to God and has the responsibility for personal growth in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Peter 2:2, 5 & 9).
SPIRITUAL GIFTS
We believe the Holy Spirit gives to every true believer spiritual gift(s). The purpose of spiritual gifts is to enable the church to fulfill its mission of exalting Christ, empowering believers, and evangelizing the world (1 Corinthians 12:12).
HEALING AND MIRACLES
We believe that God hears and answers prayer today, performs miracles and does heal for His own glory. However, we believe that the gift of healing and the gift of miracles do not reside in any one person as they did in the Age of the Apostles (1 Corinthians 13:8; Ephesians 4:11-12).
BAPTISM AND COMMUNION
We believe that believers are to uniquely demonstrate their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ through baptism and communion. Baptism is the outward demonstration of a believer’s inward faith that Christ has died for his/her sins, was buried, and that He has risen from the grave. We practice baptism by immersion. Communion is a physical reminder that Christ died for our sins and a memorial to Him until He comes again. As important as these are, they are not to be regarded as essential for salvation (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-34).
CULTURAL ENGAGEMENT
We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. The Church is responsible to address the specific issues of each generation based upon the authority and conviction of God’s Word; it is a grave failure for the Church to be silent on the moral issues of the day (Matthew 5:13-16; James 4:17).

VALUES

Get to know more about what makes us unique

At The Chapel, there are five core Values that define how we do ministry and interact with each other and our world.

BIBLICAL
We are committed to the authority and sufficiency of the Bible, God’s Word. We believe that the Bible is God’s story written under His inspiration. The Bible helps us to know the mind of God and the heart of God and His plans and purposes for mankind and the world. Therefore, everything we do as a church is centered on the truth of God’s Word.
RELEVANT
One of our roles as a church is to help God’s Word come alive. The best ways to do that is to communicate practically in ways that affect individuals in their real world environment. Our goal is to connect God’s Word to today’s issues, thus meeting people where they are with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
RELATIONAL
God created us to be in relationships with others. Therefore, we hold our relationships with people more important than our own agendas, programs, and desires. We believe God grows us most in the context of community. Thus, in all of our ministries, we will create environments that foster relationships.
EXCELLENT
God both deserves our best and desires our best: the best of our time, abilities, and energy – our best thinking, best caring, and best efforts. Therefore, we seek to be excellent in all that we do so that we will bring glory to God. We believe excellent work is both an act of worship and a bridge of credibility to show others the character of God.
JOYFUL
Joy is both a gift from God and a response to the gifts of God. It is not based on our circumstances but is anchored in the One who never changes. Therefore, we seek to share the joy of the Lord in all that we do. We design our worship services to be an experience and a reflection of the gift of joy we have been given.
