Welcome
Welcome! We’re glad you’re here and hope to see you at one of our weekend worship services. Our services aren’t just something we attend or do. We aren’t just a building or an event. We are a people, the body of Christ, sinners saved by grace. We all fall short of God’s glory and need a Savior—Jesus Christ. The Chapel is a church for all generations! We welcome all people to come and experience how Jesus changes everything!
Our Mission
It is our mission to help you on your path to Believe, Grow, Serve, and Change Your World. Our passion is to come alongside of you to help you navigate these steps on your journey: that you would come and BELIEVE Jesus is God and follow Him as Lord, GROW in your relationship with Him through studying His Word and building faith in Christian community, SERVE the church body, and CHANGE YOUR WORLD by connecting others in the community with Jesus!
BELIEFS
The Essential & Distinctive Beliefs
Our Essential Beliefs represent the most simple and foundational beliefs of Christianity. They capture the basic contours of Christian theology. Anyone pursuing membership and baptism at The Chapel must agree with these beliefs.
Our Distinctive Beliefs mark our convictions on areas that are debated even among Bible-believing, gospel-centered churches. Though agreement with these distinctives isn’t necessary for membership, we will teach and counsel on the basis of them.

ESSENTIAL BELIEFS
GOD
We believe in one God, creator of all things, perfect in love and holiness who exists as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2).
JESUS
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and entered human form by the miracle of the virgin birth, that He lived a sinless life, and that He died for our sins. We believe that He rose again on the third day and now sits at the right hand of God as our advocate (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1 & 14, 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-7; Hebrews 1:3; 1 John 2:1).
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God. His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. We believe that He brings about the new birth, indwells, baptizes, seals, anoints, and endows all who are regenerated with spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit also leads believers who daily surrender their life to Him by guiding, teaching, sanctifying, and filling them (John 15:26, 16:8, 14:16-17, 14:26, Ephesians 1:13-14, 3:16).
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word and is the sole authority for all Christian faith and life. We believe that God has preserved His Word and that by His power it has been kept from being lost, destroyed, or diluted with error (2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12, 2 Peter 1:21).
MAN
We believe that all people are created in the image of God. At the same time, because of Adam’s sin, all people are sinful by nature and choice. Apart from forgiveness in Jesus Christ, all are lost and alienated from God (Genesis 1:27, 3:1-6; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3).
SALVATION
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. His death is the only payment for our sins that God will accept. All who truly believe in Christ are born again and become the children of God (John 1:12; Ephesians 2:8-9).
THE CHURCH
We believe that the universal Church consists of all who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and exists to make disciples by going, baptizing, and teaching others through their devotion to God’s Word, prayer, and fellowship with one another.
(Ephesians 4:3-6, Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:42-47).
RESURRECTION
We believe in the literal, bodily resurrection of Jesus, His ascension to Heaven, and His return someday to make all things new at His Second Coming. At death the spirits of the saved go immediately to be with the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven until the final day of judgment where their bodies shall be raised from the grave and spend eternity with Christ. Those who reject Christ will be raised as well and face Him at the Final Judgment. (Luke 23:43; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15; Revelation 20:11-15).

DISTINCTIVE BELIEFS
ETERNAL SECURITY
We believe that all who are genuinely saved will be held secure by the power of God and presented faultless before God on judgment day (John 10:28-29; 1 Peter 1:5).
ETERNITY
We believe that people are created to exist forever with an eternal destiny that is linked to a person’s faith in Christ. Therefore, those who reject Jesus here on earth will not go to Heaven, nor will they be annihilated, but will be separated from God forever in Hell. (Luke 16:19-31, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:11-15)
END TIMES
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will rescue His Church before the Great Tribulation, after which He will establish His physical reign on the earth for 1,000 years (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:4-7).
PRIESTHOOD OF BELIEVERS
We believe in the priesthood of all believers, and that every born-again person has direct access to God and has the responsibility for personal growth in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Peter 2:2-9).
SPIRITUAL GIFTS
We believe the Holy Spirit gives to every true believer spiritual gift(s). The purpose of spiritual gifts is to enable the church to fulfill its mission. However, we believe that the sign gifts of healing, miracles, and tongues do not predominately reside in any one person as they did in the Age of the Apostles (Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 13:8; Ephesians 4:11-12).
BAPTISM AND COMMUNION
We believe that believers are to uniquely demonstrate their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ through baptism and communion. Baptism is the outward demonstration of a believer’s inward faith that Christ has died for his/her sins, was buried, and that He has risen from the grave. We practice baptism by immersion. Communion is a physical reminder that Christ died for our sins and a memorial to Him until He comes again. As important as these are, they are not to be regarded as essential for salvation (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 8:24-40, Luke 22:14-23, 1 Corinthians 11:23-34).
BIBLICAL MARRIAGE
Biblical marriage is the covenant union between a biological man and a woman, meant to reflect the relationship between Christ and the church as a gift from God. All forms of sexual expression are reserved exclusively for this covenant union. Other individuals are gifted with singleness and are called by God to live a celibate life, allowing full focus and service to His church. (Genesis 2:18-25, Matthew 19:3-6, Ephesians 5:22-33, Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 7:6-9)
BIBLICAL SEXUALITY
God creates each person in His image as one of two distinct and complementary genders: male and female. Because of this image-bearing status, we are called to treat all people with dignity and reject oppression of any kind towards fellow human beings. (Genesis 1:26-27, James 3:9)
DIVORCE AND REMARRIAGE
We believe that God designed marriage to be a permanent covenant characterized by purity. He never initiates divorce or encourages it, but God has permitted divorce in certain circumstances. Remarriage is biblically permitted after the death of a spouse or if divorce is within the biblical grounds of adultery or abandonment for the faithful partner. (Genesis 2:24-25, Matthew 5:32, 19:1-12, Romans 7:1-3, 1 Corinthians 7:10-16, Ephesians 5:22-33)
SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE
We believe that God values all human life at its beginning, middle and end, which was best demonstrated when Jesus provided eternal life through His own humanity, death, and resurrection. God alone is the authority on life and death. We believe Scripture states that life begins in the womb and therefore should be protected. We also believe that God is to be the sole authority on the end of a person’s life and therefore we are called to value all of human life. (Genesis 1:26-31, Genesis 9:5-6, Exodus 20:13, 21:22-24, Psalm 139:1-24, Jeremiah 1:5, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
WOMEN IN MINISTRY
We believe that both men and women are made in the image of God and therefore have the same value. Scripture throughout designates that there are different roles for different people, whether that be parents and children, or husbands and wives, therefore delineating between value and role. In the context of ministry, the New Testament gives several examples of women in important roles and responsibilities in the church. Our belief is that the only role in the church that is solely designated for men is that of the elder. (Genesis 1:26-27, Ephesians 5:22-6:4, 1 Timothy 2:12-3:7, Titus 1:5-9)
CIVIL GOVERNMENT
We believe that our civil governments are established by God and are under his authority. They exist for the good of people and to maintain order. We believe that Christians are responsible to pray for our government leaders, to honor them, and to obey them by being active and submissive citizens. If confronted with a clear conflict between God and these governing authorities, our biblical response must first and foremost be allegiance to God. Though political entities exist with differing values on how best to govern, we believe the church should avoid exclusively aligning with any one entity. (Exodus 1:8-22, Romans 13:1-7, 1 Timothy 2:1-7, 1 Peter 2:12-17)
MONEY AND GENEROSITY
We believe that followers of Jesus are to serve Him with their time, talents, and treasures, recognizing that all we have is his and that we are to be stewards of his possessions for the glory of God and for helping others. Therefore, Christians should give to the church and others cheerfully, regularly, and proportionately for the advancement of God’s Kingdom on earth. We do not align with those that teach that financial prosperity is the will of God for us and is acquired through faith, good works, and declarations. (Malachi 3:7-12, Matthew 6:1-4, 19-24, Mark 12:43-44, Acts 2:42-47, 2 Corinthians 8-10, Philippians 4:10-20, 1 Timothy 5:17-18, 6:17-19)

VALUES
Get to know more about what makes us unique
At The Chapel, there are five core Values that define how we do ministry and interact with each other and our world.
BIBLICAL
We are committed to the authority and sufficiency of the Bible, God’s Word. We believe that the Bible is God’s story written under His inspiration. The Bible helps us to know the mind of God and the heart of God and His plans and purposes for mankind and the world. Therefore, everything we do as a church is centered on the truth of God’s Word.
RELEVANT
One of our roles as a church is to help God’s Word come alive. The best ways to do that is to communicate practically in ways that affect individuals in their real world environment. Our goal is to connect God’s Word to today’s issues, thus meeting people where they are with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
RELATIONAL
God created us to be in relationships with others. Therefore, we hold our relationships with people more important than our own agendas, programs, and desires. We believe God grows us most in the context of community. Thus, in all of our ministries, we will create environments that foster relationships.
EXCELLENT
God both deserves our best and desires our best: the best of our time, abilities, and energy – our best thinking, best caring, and best efforts. Therefore, we seek to be excellent in all that we do so that we will bring glory to God. We believe excellent work is both an act of worship and a bridge of credibility to show others the character of God.
JOYFUL
Joy is both a gift from God and a response to the gifts of God. It is not based on our circumstances but is anchored in the One who never changes. Therefore, we seek to share the joy of the Lord in all that we do. We design our worship services to be an experience and a reflection of the gift of joy we have been given.
