Sabbath - Mark 6:30-32

Is work and busyness overtaking your life? In today's verse, we see Jesus and the disciples in the midst of an extremely busy life of ministry. Even though they're doing great things, Jesus reminds them that they have limits, and it's not only okay to rest but it's necessary. Many times we can get caught up in the busyness of life, especially when the things we're doing are good and positive things. But if we try to keep up that pace for too long, as the verse says, "no leisure even to eat", we will begin to suffer the effects.

PRAY: God, we praise you for your wisdom and the way you taught us by your example. Help us to have wisdom in knowing when to pause and rest. Help us to have balance, and help us to find a time and place away from the busyness of life to find rest. In Jesus' name, Amen.
