Romans 11:33-34

On the one hand, the Lord and His ways, and how He works, and what He allows is a mystery to us. But we do know that His character is perfectly good, and that He is perfect love, and that He is working all things together for our good and for His glory! And the truths in that last sentence must suffice when we are tempted to ask God the big “WHY?” question. Because we rarely get a direct answer to many of our “why” questions. I do not have to understand His ways in order to trust Him and walk in obedience to Him. On the other hand, God has already revealed to us His purposes in the gospel, His mission for the church, and His invitation for us to live in surrendered relationship to Him. Plus we know where all this is headed, how the story ends, that we will be with Him for eternity with all sin removed. Thank you Jesus for revealing to us the heart and will of the Father!

PASSAGE: Romans 11:33-34 - "Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?”

PAUSE: There are our thoughts and the Lord’s thoughts. The goal of our life is to transform our thoughts into the Lord's thoughts. But we are in trouble if we focus on our thoughts rather than the Lord’s. Today, open our hearts to pursue YOU more than ourselves. Listen for his voice and seek to glorify him first!

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, everything is for you, and through you, you are my all-in-all. Allow my thoughts and actions to glorify you today!  I glorify YOU!
