Romans 3:25b-26

Jul 4, 2024    Pastor Josh Lewis

PASSAGE: Romans 3:25b-26 - This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

PAUSE: When Jesus hung on the cross, He looked at His persecutors, sinning against Him in that moment, and said "Father, forgive them..." In real-time, He was offering forgiveness, and that offer continues today! The finished work of Jesus on the cross has an ongoing effect for all of the next generations because of His once-for-all sacrifice. In an amazing act of mercy Christ died not only for the sins of the people during and after His crucifixion, but He also died for the sins of all the people who lived before His crucifixion! In God's perfect wisdom, this was the plan the entire time. Jesus' sacrifice wasn't Plan-B to get creation back on track. From Adam to the end of time, Jesus was, and is, and is to come the Savior from all sins.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I praise You for the amazing grace and plan of God that sent You to die for the sins of all mankind for all time and history. Your grace is truly amazing! Amen.
