John 20:28-29
PASSAGE: John 20:28-29 - Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
PAUSE: Doubting Thomas finally saw Jesus for Who He really was. After seeing (and touching) the resurrected Jesus, Thomas declared: “My Lord and my God!” Thomas got what we must get. The resurrection was Jesus’ victory over sin, death, and the devil. “My Lord and my God” is the cry of complete surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. He is not just my Savior, though that is true and utterly amazing. He is the King of the universe and the King of my life. His resurrection means His right to rule and reign over the world and over me. The wise and humble person lives with Christ on the throne of their life, in every area, all the time! The foolish and prideful person tries to stay on the throne (be in control) of their own life and tries to use Jesus when life starts to fall apart. Live wise my friend!!
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, we worship You as God and King! We believe in You by faith and put our hope fully in You! Amen
