2 Timothy 3:16

PASSAGE: 2 Timothy 3:16 - All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness…

PAUSE: God’s Word is not only full of His authority (“All Scripture is God breathed”) but is also a profitable and practical guide for my life, and it keeps me on the path of God’s will! One way the Bible states God’s will for our lives as Christ-followers is that we continue to grow more mature in “righteousness!” I often define “righteousness” this way: “becoming more like Jesus in the way that we live and love.” But this does not just happen randomly, and we do not have to try and guess what it looks like. For God “teaches” us the way in His Word. The Word also shows us when we’ve gotten off the right path of God’s will (“REPROOF”) and how to get back on the right path (“CORRECTION”)! This is the reason that we need to be a people in the Word! Reading it, meditating on it, studying it, memorizing it, and most importantly, applying it & living it! 

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I am so thankful for how Your Word instructs me, rebukes me, and corrects me. I need it all! Amen
