2 Timothy 3:16a

PASSAGE: 2 Timothy 3:16a - All Scripture is breathed out by God…

PAUSE: The Bible does not have its origin or source in man but in God! Therefore, it has full authority to speak into our lives. This phrase “breathed out by God” (ESV) or “God-breathed” (NIV) must be the determining factor in our mindset as we approach the Bible. If the Bible is just a book written by humans giving their own perspectives and ideas then it carries no more authority over our lives than the people who wrote it, which is no authority! But if the words of Scripture are in fact the very words of God coming out of the very heart of God telling the world everything He wants us to know about Himself and His purpose and plans and salvation and will for us, then we are accountable before God for how we respond to His authoritative Word. Christians are a people under authority. Under the authority of God our Father and Christ our King, whose will is revealed to us in Holy Scripture alone! 

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I praise You that when I open my Bible, I am truly reading Your words written to me for my good! Amen.
