Hebrews 11:13
The Christian life, your life and my life, will only make sense when we view it from God’s eternal perspective! Many of His ultimate promises to us are not designed or even scheduled to be fulfilled in this life. But every single one of God’s promises to us will be perfectly fulfilled when we see Him face to face in His eternal New Heavens and New Earth. But His promises to be WITH us and to LOVE us and to TRANSFORM us everyday of this life really are for the here and now. And we experience the fulfillment of these promises as we actively live by faith. Surrendering to Him anew daily and exercising confident trust in Him that He is deeply at work in our lives and circumstances. And that He really is working all things together for the good (as He defines good) of those who walk in His love. So do not allow your faith to be shaken by failing to understand His eternal perspective!
PASSAGE: Hebrews 11:13 - "These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth."
PAUSE: Just because we trust and obey God’s voice doesn’t always mean we will receive the things promised. Abram and Sarai believed in God, went to a foreign land, and lived as strangers and exiles, hoping for a better future. Their faith was genuine and resilient, yet they never fully experienced the promise.
PRAYER: Father, help me to trust you no matter what! Too often, I only follow you when I can see the future; today, I want to trust you in the present.
