Zechariah 9:16

What is the kingdom of God? His kingdom speaks of God’s rule or reign over His creation. It is important for Christians to understand that God’s kingdom, or rule, takes place in progressive phases. In one sense, God’s kingdom or rule is already taking place. He rules in the lives of those of us who have accepted King Jesus as our Lord & Savior. Are you daily surrendering to Him as Lord? God rules over all creation today in a general sense but the world and the devil operate in rebellion against God’s rule or kingdom. But on that Day when Christ returns and after the final judgments occur then all opposition to God’s rule will be eliminated once for all and His Kingdom reign will be complete. Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. We will live in sinless, beautiful, face to face fellowship with our God. Do you live in expectant hope for that Day? 

PASSAGE: Zechariah 9:16 - "On that day the Lord their God will save them,

    as the flock of his people;

for like the jewels of a crown

    they shall shine on his land."

PAUSE: Jesus is coming back to establish His Kingdom. The world we live in today is not His kingdom yet. Therefore, Jesus told us to pray, “Your kingdom come.” Which day are you living for, today or the day that is still to come?  Please take a moment and set your sights on the second coming of Christ.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, forgive me for all my anxiety and worry. I desire to remember Your plan daily, so show me how to seek Your kingdom first.
