Psalm 22:4-5
Everyone has faith. But the critical question is this, what is the object of your faith? What are you trusting in? This question becomes eternally significant when it is applied to your salvation. Who or what are you trusting in for your salvation? If you think that your own good deeds contribute in any way to your salvation, then you are the object of your own faith. You are trusting in your ability to somehow be good enough to earn a right standing before a holy God. When God asks you why He should let you into heaven you will pull out your resume of good deeds and hope it is good enough. IT IS NOT! There is only one right object for our faith when it comes to our salvation and that object is Jesus Christ. And not Jesus as a great teacher or moral guide, but Jesus as the One who took our sins upon Himself and died as our sin substitute on the cross. Are you sure that you have transferred your trust off of yourself and onto Christ alone?
PASSAGE: Psalm 22:4-5 - "In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. 5 They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed."
PAUSE: Regardless of how you feel in the crisis, the best decision is to trust in our Heavenly Father. Crying out to God to rescue is an example of trust, trust in God’s goodness, and rescue! Trust always wins when we cry out to God.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I declare my trust in you. I need your grace today to increase my ability to trust even if I might never see the results I desire.
