Matthew 11:28-30

Who is your favorite person in the world to hang out with? Someone who is a super positive influence, who makes you a better person just by hanging with them? Could you ever come to truly view Jesus that way? Jesus is not just a story figure from the Bible. He is your living, loving Savior & Lord and his heart for you is one of profound compassion. And he has come to set you free! Free from burdensome sin struggles. Free from shame-based living. Free to live into the life of sacrificial service that he has designed for you. Free to love the Lord your God with all your heart! But we only experience all this if we continually “come to him!”

PASSAGE: Matthew 11:28-30 - "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

PAUSE: Spiritual disciplines should be easy. Jesus said that his yoke is easy while his burden is light. If you say that spiritual disciplines are hard, perhaps it is not the spiritual disciplines, but the yoke that you have placed on yourself. 

PRAYER: Christ Jesus, I come to you humble and hungry. Help me to learn from you, to learn about your grace and truth.
