Romans 5:10

Dec 5, 2023    Pastor Mike Fanning

In Jesus Christ we have been moved from a state of rebellion (“God’s enemies”) to a state of reconciliation! Christ was raised victorious over sin, death, and the devil and in Christ we are raised up and released to live a new and victorious life over sin. A new life empowered by the resurrection life of Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit. A new life that counts itself dead to fleshly, selfish desires and counts itself alive to loving God wholeheartedly and loving one another beautifully! A new life that shifts away from mere self-fulfillment and embraces God’s new mission of building His kingdom! A new life that is solid and secure and full of ultimate purpose! A new life in which we discover the real “us”, the “us” God intended when He created us and saved us! All this because we have been reconciled to God and set free in Christ!

PASSAGE: Romans 5:10 For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

PAUSE: This series has emphasized the fact that the Gospel is about the death and resurrection of Christ. The Gospel is something that we are to believe but also something that we are to live out. Since we have been reconciled with God, we are now free to live out the power of our victorious life in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER: Father, I praise you for being reconciled and released from the power of sin. I dedicate my life to following you and to walking in your ways.
