Galatians 6:1

Some cars today are equipped with "lane assist". If you begin to drift into another lane, the steering wheel will vibrate as a gentle reminder to keep you on track. The more you ignore the warning, the more it shakes! There may even come a time when you are so tired of getting the reminder that you turn the feature off completely. Paul writes in Galatians that we should be the "lane assist" for our brothers and sisters in Christ. If we are spiritually mature, we will gently be able to provide that reminder to keep each other on track when we drift. It can be hard to hear criticism, but friends, I urge you not to turn off the lane assist. We should desire to make the corrections in our life that bring our character more in line with Christ. Be that gentle nudge for your brothers and sisters, and also as Paul warns the Galatians, don’t think your are exempt from correction for that is when you’ll be susceptible to temptation.

PASSAGE: Galatians 6:1 - "Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted."

PAUSE: Have you ever been caught in a sin? Sometimes the only path to restoration is a fellow disciple of Christ, who loves you enough to stay the course with you. Confession of sin to a trusted friend might be the best decision you make today, it might release a serious growth spurt in your life.

PRAYER: Father, restore my soul. Grant me some supportive relationships that love me enough to confront my sin and restore my relationship with you.
