Luke 24:32
As a kid, I was fortunate to have a great example from my dad—I remember so often seeing him early in the morning reading his Bible. I didn’t have a good habit built yet, but I can remember wondering, when would I be like that? It wasn’t until years later, but thanks to more godly relationships in my life, that fire was finally lit within me. I began consistently reading Scripture for the first time in my life, and it came alive like never before! Take an honest look at your habits and your desire for reading the Bible. If you find yourself struggling, or not yet able to find a good rhythm, ask God to put that burning desire in your heart—to desire walking with Him daily in His word!
PASSAGE: Luke 24:32 - "They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?”
PAUSE: Ask the Lord to allow Scripture to burn in your hearts in this new series—truths about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As we enter Lent, let us slow down and ask God to reveal himself in more profound ways.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, forgive me for my speed in life. Help me slow down and experience you in deeper and more meaningful ways this week.
