John 14:1

Imagine two people are hired to do the same job at the landfill doing laborious, filthy work. One is promised a minimum wage salary payable at the end of the year and the other is promised 10 million dollars! To the first, the job will feel like pure drudgery. But to the 2nd it would feel like a breeze, because they were working away with the glorious end in mind. This is how it should be for believers in Jesus Christ. Though life can be hard and difficult, we live today with the sure knowledge that for those who believe in Christ, there is something infinitely better awaiting than 10 million dollars. So do not live with a troubled heart but with an eternal perspective!

PRAY: Lord Jesus, I do believe in You! I believe you are the Son of God who became fully human and gave Your life for the sins of the world and for my sins personally. I believe in You as My Savior and Lord, the forgiver of my sins and the giver of new life--eternal life. Help me Lord to keep my perspective fixed on the promise of your return and the new heavens and new earth that will be my eternal, beautiful, perfect home in Your very presence! Amen.
