Matthew 9:38

Who is currently living in your portion of God’s harvest field? This might include lost family members, neighbors, coworkers, or long-time friends from your life before Christ. Begin by praying for them and praying for yourself. Pray for them, that God’s Spirit would be at work in their lives convicting them of their sin and their need of a Savior. And for yourself, pray for a deeper burden for their spiritual condition and for greater boldness in engaging them with the love of Christ and the truth of the gospel. Then begin the process of building, or rebuilding, bridges in your relationship with them. Begin to ask them ice breaker questions like, “how would you describe your spiritual journey up to this point?” Or “have I ever shared with you how my relationship with God has helped me walked through the valleys in my life?” You might be amazed at the doors that open when you start knocking! 

PASSAGE: Matthew 9:38 - "...therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

PAUSE: Jesus told his disciples that the harvest was plentiful, but the workers were few. Jesus is the Lord of the harvest, and he is asking all of us to be workers. Would you be willing to do the work we need to do to fulfill our mission? 

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, forgive me for not sharing the good news of Christ with my neighbors and friends. Please give me the boldness to go and share!
