Psalm 19:1
Next time you're outside, look around at nature. Feel the warmth of the sunshine traveling millions of miles to reach you. Hear the sounds of the wind and waves or the birds chirping. One of the most breathtaking sites I've had the opportunity to see is the Grand Canyon. I just couldn't believe the vastness and the depth of what I was looking at. I can't even look at pictures of the Grand Canyon the same way anymore because they pale in comparison to the real thing. If our current heavens and earth are glorious, how much more glorious will the new heavens and earth be? In many ways, the view we have of the Earth now is like looking at a picture. Yes, it's beautiful and we can see God's glory revealed in His handiwork, but it pales in comparison to what it will be like in God's presence when all things are made new!
PRAY: God, we marvel at your creation! We give you honor and glory and praise for the beauty we see in the heavens and the earth around us. I thank you for your masterful design of this life and the life to come, and I praise you for the way you so intentionally crafted us and designed us to be in fellowship with you. We long for the day we will be with you in the new heavens and the new earth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
