The Chapel's Women's Ministries exists "to bring honor and glory to the Lord by encouraging, equipping and empowering women to live out their God-given purposes."
Dear Ladies,
I hope your summer has been filled with wonderful memories with family and friends. My summer has flown by despite my efforts to try to savor our waning time with our daughter. You see, I am preparing to send off our oldest child, Emily, to Purdue . The goal in raising and training your children is to launch them from your home into their next chapter in life. It is one thing to know that is a reality; it is quite another to live it out! Our time to live it out is NOW!
This reality has opened my eyes to an interesting characteristic about myself. It seems I have an affinity for even numbers - 2 parents 2 children, 2 males 2 females and 2 dogs. As of August our family will be odd, some of you may have already suspected that. For me, our family and our home will feel odd and lopsided, less than whole and somehow broken. My heart already feels the waves of brokenness and lopsidedness cresting to overtake me. But God is faithful! He promises in Psalms 34:18 ”that He is close to the brokenhearted!” I am pressing into Him for that comfort. As we launch Emily off, I am grateful that Women’s Ministries will be doing a launching of their own as we promote all the opportunities and offerings for women during the 2010–2011 year.
Our theme for the 2010-2011 is Going Deeper. The Women’s Ministries Leadership Team have tried to choose Bible studies, Special Events and Outreach opportunities in which you will encounter the Lord and discover your God-given purpose. We hope you will be forever changed and your heart captured by the One who has loved you since before the foundation of the world. A hunger to know Him intimately, to love Him completely and serve Him joyfully. If this is your longing please join us this year in Going Deeper.
Blessings, Amy Beam
Director of Women’s Ministries
