Discipleship Walk Weekends

How did the Walks Start?
The Discipleship Walk began in Indianapolis at Northview Christian Life Church in 1989. The Discipleship Walk is heavily patterned after the Walk to Emmaus, The Cursillo Movement, The Great Banquet, and other similar weekends across denominational lines. Since then many area churches in the Indianapolis area have joined them in participating in the walks. In fact, in the fall of 2002, the decision was made to split the groups in Indianapolis because there was so much interest in attending walks.

What is the Discipleship Walk Weekend?
The Discipleship Walk is a three-day weekend (no hiking involved) designed to give believers an opportunity to take a break from regular routines and experience the love of God in a new and fresh way. It is the goal of the Discipleship Walk to lead each person into a closer relationship with Christ where they might become more intentional and mature in their faith, so that each can make a difference for Christ in his/her world. Who is involved?
